ROSATOM Southeast Asia, a subsidiary of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation (Russia), and Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Mr. Egor Simonov, Head of ROSATOM Southeast Asia, and Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, affixed their signatures to the document that is aimed at intensifying the dialogue in nuclear science and education between Russia and Thailand.

“Development in nuclear science and technology is one of the cornerstones to support the implementation of the national strategy. In addition to power generation, nuclear technologies are widely used in medicine, agriculture and other important industries,” Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn stated.

The parties agreed to develop partnership between Chulalongkorn University and Russian higher educational institutions, as well as research and educational enterprises of ROSATOM State Corporation.

“Our cooperation will contribute to higher public awareness of nuclear technologies and their role in sustainable development of Thailand,” Mr. Egor Simonov noted.

According to the contract signed on September 07, 2017, the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM (Russia) will be a technology supplier for a cyclotron complex with radiochemical laboratories for the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT).
