On September 13, JSC “CDBMB" (a part of Machine Building Division of Rosatom – “Atomenergomash”) has delivered six glandless electric pumps of vertical design to Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant. Two more pumps were shipped to China last month.
Glandless electric pump is an auxiliary pump related to the reactor coolant pump set (RCPS). The electric pump is installed in the cooling circuit of the RCPS radial-axial bearing to ensure the circulation of the coolant and the reliable operation of the bearing. A spare set of eight glandless electric pumps was manufactured for eight RCPS-1391 operating at the third and fourth power units of the Tianwan NPP. RCPS-1391 for these two units were manufactured at CDBMB in 2015.
Currently, CDBMB is working on design documentation for RCPS-1391 pumps, which will be equipped with the seventh and eighth operating units under construction.
