The Korea Atomic Power Annual Conference (KAP 2020) held in Busan, South Korea on July 16-17, brought together leaders of the Korean nuclear power industry, as well as the world’s major players, including Rosatom. The conference is traditionally organized by Korea Atomic Industry Forum (KAIF). Rosatom was represented by the employees of “Rosatom Southeast Asia” regional office and TENEX-Korea Co. Ltd.

Egor Simonov, Director of “Rosatom Southeast Asia” regional office participated in the session “Innovative Development of Small and Medium Power Reactor Technologies”. Egor Simonov shared the presentation on current developments of Rosatom in the field of SMRs and emphasized that SMRs are one of the most perspective, safe and economically efficient sources of clean base-load energy. He reminded that earlier this year, in May 2020, Rosatom has successfully commissioned its floating NPP “Akademik Lomonosov”, equipped with two small KLT-40S reactors. “Akademik Lomonosov” is the world’s unique reference project for nuclear power plants of this type.

Managing Director of TENEX-Korea Co. Ltd Denis Muravyev took part in the “Seminar on the status of the nuclear projects of international partners”, where he shared current trends and prospects for the development of the nuclear industry in Russia.

NuScale Power, KEPCO Engineering and Construction, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Doosan, KHNP and other companies participated in the KAP conference this year.
