On April 26-28, the 15th China International Exhibition on Nuclear Power Industry was held in Beijing. ROSATOM, for the sixth time, took part in the event. The exhibition was also attended by more than 200 major companies and research institutes from China, including CNNC, CGN, SPIC, etc.

ROSATOM's booth became a platform for demonstrating the State Corporation's key line of products – from the production of nuclear fuel, the design and construction of large and small nuclear power plants, to the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and radioactive waste management.

Due to an interactive augmented reality application, visitors of the booth were able to see firsthand how a nuclear power plant with the latest generation of VVER-1200 reactors is designed. These are the VVER-1200 reactors that will be installed at power units 7 and 8 of the Tianwan NPP and power units 3 and 4 of the Xudapu NPP – joint projects of Russia and China that are currently being implemented in the People's Republic of China.

Virtual tours organized at ROSATOM's booth made it possible for the public to have an idea of a complex and fascinating process of decommissioning nuclear facilities and radioactive waste management, "visit" a nuclear fuel assembly factory and be carried away to the city of Zarechny, where BN-800, the world's most powerful fast neutron reactor, operates at the Beloyarsk NPP.

ROSATOM's booth became a platform for business meetings between representatives of the State Corporation and specialists of Chinese and international nuclear power companies. Specialists of TVEL, ROSATOM's Fuel Company, presented nuclear fuel for TVS-K fuel assemblies to Chinese partners and guests of the exhibition. TVS-K is the only nuclear fuel on the world market that is completely independent of the developers of the original PWR reactor technology, which uses the best Russian-designed engineering solutions that have proven effective over the years of manufacture and operation of fuel for VVER reactors.

ROSATOM's exposition was visited by Zhang Kejian, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Agency of the People's Republic of China, Liu Hua, Deputy Director General of the IAEA, Zhang Tingke, Secretary General of the China Nuclear Energy Association (CNEA), as well as other key representatives of the world nuclear energy.

As part of the business program of the exhibition, a number of business events were held, including the China Forum on Sustainable Development of Nuclear Energy. ROSATOM was represented at the forum by Boris Arseev, Deputy Director of the Corporate Development and International Business Unit – Director for International Business of ROSATOM, and Ilya Ushmarov, Project Manager of the TVS-K Program Group of TVEL JSC.

"Russian-Chinese cooperation is at an unprecedented high level and continues to strengthen across all areas of nuclear energy. Russia is the world leader in the construction of nuclear power plants abroad, while China is the world leader in the construction of nuclear power units within the home country. We are confident that the strategic partnership between Russia and China will bring the global nuclear power industry to a fundamentally new level of technological development," said Boris Arseev, Deputy Director of the Corporate Development and International Business Unit, Director for International Business of ROSATOM.

Chinese colleagues also got familiarized with Russian solutions for decommissioning nuclear facilities and radioactive waste management. "ROSATOM has unique and reference process solutions for back-end of the nuclear cycle and has accumulated considerable experience in the elimination of nuclear legacy facilities, as well as the management of radioactive waste, including disposal. China also pays special attention to the development of advanced technologies in these areas, taking into account the high growth dynamics of its own nuclear energy. Strategic cooperation between our countries in the nuclear fuel cycle back-end stage sets trends in the development of the global nuclear energy," said Eduard Nikitin, Director for Decommissioning Programs of TVEL, ROSATOM's Fuel Company.
